OCTOBER 2011:
A Taste of PLCB's Privatization & a Wine Tasting: First, we will learn changes being discussed in Harrisburg regarding the privatization of the PLCB State Store System and the impact on licensees and individual consumers.  Followed by a Wine Tasting with Hudson Austin from Wine Merchants. MAY 2011:

The Spring Bowling Fling at the Philadelphia Country Club was a striking success.  It was a great night for those who had time to "spare".

APRIL 2011:
Steve McClatchy from Alleer Training presented at the lovely Merion Cricket Club.  Guests were inspired to improve their interpersonal relationships in the workplace using many unique strategies.

MARCH 2011:
The beautiful Radnor Hotel hosted our March meeting.  We had a very informative presentation about Renewable Energy Alternatives.  Our speaker, Chris Fraga, explained the advantages of Solar Energy in hospitality operations.

DECEMBER 2010:
General Warren Inn hosted our annual holiday party. All attendees were impressed by the delicious food, attentive service, and cozy atmosphere. We were thrilled to have another successful holiday party. Special thanks to Diane, Katharine, and Nancy for their efforts.

NOVEMBER 2010:
Continental Restaurant Old City, a Stephen Starr Restaurant hosted our annual scholarship award dinner. The four recipients from Widener, U of Delaware, Temple, and Penn State participated in an essay contest arranged by the scholarship committee and voted on by members. Congrats to our bright industry scholars!

SEPTEMBER 2010:
The Dolce Valley Forge Hotel in King of Prussia hosted our Septmeber meeting. The topic was "Health Care Reform: New Form W-2 Reporting Requirements for 2011 & beyond! The speakers were Carolyn Collins & John Cerami from Radnor Benefits Group.

APRIL 2010:
The Hotel Palomar Philadelphia hosted the chapter’s April 28th Breakfast meeting - we had two great speakers who gave us a look at the future of Energy buying, and Energy management.

MARCH 2010:
Joint Meeting with the Mid-Jersey Chapter on Thursday, March 18th, 2010 at the Tavistock Country Club in Haddonfield, NJ

FEBRUARY 2010:
For anyone who missed the rescheduled February chapter meeting (on March 4th at Philadelphia Cricket Club), there were some great discussions afterwards during dinner, including anonymous sharing of various properties’ Food Cost % (both target & actual) as well as the revelation that not every property uses clear trash bags in their kitchens - but everyone should! 

2009

DECEMBER 2009:
The annual HFTP Holiday Social was held at the General Warren Inne in Malvern, PA on Thursday, December 10th.

NOVEMBER 2009:
Dr. Cihan Cobanoglu from the University of Delaware presented "Does IT Matter in Hotels?"  Chapter Scholarship Awards were awarded to this year's student recipients.  The meeting was held at Hilton Garden Inn Philadelphia Center City.

SEPTEMBER 2009:
On Friday, September 11th, The Merion Cricket Club hosted us along with members of the Philadelphia & Vicinity Chapter of CMAA for a very informative presentation by Hank Thompson from USGA. Hank turned out to be a charming, bright & enthusiastic spokesperson who told and showed us A LOT about how the U.S. Open comes together, how it has changed in the last 10 years, and what to expect when the event hits our area in 2013 when Merion Golf Club hosts the best amateur and professional golfers from around the world. Kudos to the management and staff at the Club for pulling out all the stops for our group—it made for a really nice start to the weekend, despite the rainy weather outside!

MARCH 2009:
Robert J. Marcil of HR Benefits & Compliance, Inc. gave a one-hour presentation entitled “Adaptive Strategies for Challenging Times.”  The meeting was held at Dolce Valley Forge. 

FEBRUARY 2009:
Thor Hansen or Agilysys, Inc. visits properties of all types throughout the country. He shared some success stories and lessons to be learned from his own visits regarding food and supply purchasing, inventory, cost controls and reporting.   The breakfast meeting was held at the Radnor Hotel.
